Privacy Policy

This policy explains what PetroCalc ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. We keep it short and plain. Questions: [you@petrocalc.app].

What we collect

• Account info: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
• Prospect data you enter: the reservoir, decline, economic, and risking inputs you save to your portfolio — stored so we can sync them to your account across devices.
• Payment info: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we receive only your subscription status and a customer reference.
• Basic technical data: standard request/usage information needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

• To provide the app, save and sync your prospects, and manage your subscription.
• To provide support and to keep the service secure and working.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not use your prospect inputs for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to run PetroCalc. Your data is stored and processed by them on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database (stores your account and saved prospects).
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Netlify — website hosting.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data security & isolation

Data is encrypted in transit. Saved prospects are protected by row-level security so each account can only access its own data.

Your choices & rights

• You can access, correct, or export the data in your account at any time within the app.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. We will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal or accounting reasons.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your prospects and profile; billing records may be retained by Stripe and us as required by law.

Children

PetroCalc is a professional tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
