Terms of Service

By creating an account or using PetroCalc (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What PetroCalc is

PetroCalc is a screening tool. It is intended for fast, preliminary reservoir-engineering screening of prospects. It is not a reserves report, a reserves audit, or financial, investment, or engineering advice. Outputs are estimates and must be independently verified before being used for any investment, drilling, acquisition, or reporting decision.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

The Service offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan, billed monthly or annually through Stripe.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime; your Pro access continues through the end of the period you've paid for.
Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable and we do not prorate partial periods.
We may change prices with notice; changes apply at your next renewal, not mid-term. Any locked-in promotional rate applies as stated at the time of purchase.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: resell or sublicense the Service; reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy it; misuse it to harm the Service or other users; or use it unlawfully.

5. Your data & intellectual property

You own the inputs and prospect data you enter. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the Service to you (see the Privacy Policy).
We own the Service — the software, correlations implementation, design, and content. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use it, not ownership.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While our correlations are validated against published industry references, we do not warrant that any output is accurate or suitable for your specific use.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetroCalc and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Texas], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
